Error Code E iS
Ice Room Sensor Error or Ice Maker Sensor Error
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
What This Means
Short circuit or disconnection of ice room sensor; Short circuit or disconnection of ice maker sensor
How to Fix
- 1
Step 1: Check connector between Main PCB and icing/ice maker sensor — if loose or disconnected, reconnect or repair at CON3 pins 10-9.
- 2
Step 2: Measure resistance at CON3 pins 10-9. If resistance = 0 ohm (short), replace sensor.
- 3
Step 3: If resistance = infinity (open), proceed to Step 4.
- 4
Step 4: Check temperature vs. resistance using table: -22°F/-30°C=40kΩ, -13°F/-25°C=30kΩ, -4°F/-20°C=23kΩ, 5°F/-15°C=17kΩ, 14°F/-10°C=13kΩ, 23°F/-5°C=10kΩ, 32°F/0°C=8kΩ. If matches, explain to customer.
- 5
Step 5: If resistance does not match expected value, replace sensor.
- 6
Step 6: If connection abnormal, reconnect or repair connector.
